The cartons and individual packs for Hongmei (Hard Gold) are made from 225 gsm coated white paperboard with a yellow core. Prepress preparation includes gravure cylinder preparation, computer-to-plate (CTP) platemaking, and ink mixing. The paperboard undergoes four-color roll-fed gravure printing before being cut into sheets, followed by six-color offset printing to enhance the detail and finish of the design. Subsequent steps include inkjet printing of QR codes, matte gold foil stamping, and selective embossing and debossing of the main design. Combining gravure and offset printing improves production efficiency while maintaining a distinctive print finish, making this packaging suitable for mid-range and premium cigarettes.
